Welcome to Sight Unseen,
What makes an artwork truly valuable? Is it the immediate visual impact, or the rich, verified history behind its creation?
Acquired in the Dark flips the traditional gallery experience on its head. Every piece in this exhibition remains hidden from view until it finds its new home. Instead of relying on instant visual judgment, viewers navigate the show guided solely by each work’s digital origin story—its authentic metadata, creator lineage, and process notes powered by Provenance. By stripping away visual preconceptions, the show asks collectors to invest in the soul, history, and authenticity of the artist’s craft before taking it into the light.

Performative Exposure
HENDERSON
This body of work explores the unstable territory between figuration and abstraction, using fragmented bodies, interior spaces, objects, and saturated color to examine identity, memory, vulnerability, and human connection. Psychological and emotional states emerge through distortion, gesture, and shifting relationships between figure and environment. Across the works, recognizable forms remain present even as they begin to dissolve, preserving a persistent trace of humanity within abstraction.

Stronger than you Speak
LEAH M BRANDT
Stronger Than You Speak. By Leah Brandt 20" by 16" Mixed Media Fiber Collage on Canvas with original Poetry featuring patch made from a photo of me by JoJo dancer photography. Artist statement: This piece is somewhat of self reflection it is curious, imperfect ,layered, soft delicate textured and dangerous. It is a representation of my cluttered mind and feeling out of control of my own narrative all while trying to heal from trauma and trying to feel strong and grounded. The Poem in this piece is deeply personal I wrote it when I was 15 and revisited it when I found in a pile of papers in my studio a few years ago. I wanted to reclaim the narrative after gaining more life wisdom and create a more positive message behind the sadness and otherness I was feeling as a young girl. Naming it Stronger than you Speak. Oh, the riot in my head, All the voices that said I am nothing more than a broken doll. When the only thing that is fractured is my beating heart When you sit there and tear my world apart, And all the spaces are revealed, my hollowed places are unsealed ,many faces who plan to kill my voice. But I can’t let this go to waste This energy, this pulse Is there any real protection? Except for this canopy of smoke? A covering, a shelter from these things that hinder me My soul it runs through those cob webbed memories. Their streets are harsh and dim. My pain traced back to a moment that defined everything I felt within. I don’t want you to understand Wishing, that would be selfish Because if you felt like I you would want to die With every passing day, my mind opens, and you did not ruin me! Because I can choose my way out of misery, even though I won’t forget what you did to me Always will I be stronger than You Speak.

My art is reflection of what is happening inside of me. I’ve never been able to do a complete narrative piece of how I’m feeling or what I’m thinking about. my art is spontaneous and organic it is about meditation and channeling my inner spirit onto my medium using line ,shape ,color and form in a poetic manner.

The Door Where Love Waits
Martina Galvan
The Door Where Love Waits - Panini Inspired by a photograph of my late dog, Panini, who passed away in December 2025, this painting honors her companionship and lasting impact on my life. Dried florals reflect her gentle nature and love of the outdoors, while butterflies symbolize life’s fragility. Creating this piece helped me process grief and preserve her memory. @artie_martiee

The Body Remembers
Martina Galvan
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 For the last year, my hips have become a place my body and mind return to over and over again. I’ve been living with chronic illness for years. Doctor’s appointments, blood work, scans, procedures, medications, and more questions than answers… it became a language I never expected to learn. Living with Sjögren’s, Lupus, PCOS, etc… and chronic pain has changed the relationship I have with my own body. But around September of last year, chronic hip pain became something I never knew I’d have to live with like this. When I looked at my hip X-rays, I couldn’t stop thinking about them- So I painted them! The flowers bloom exactly where the pain lives. This piece is a map of my body. They’re not there to cover up the pain or make it seem beautiful. They’re there because even in a body that doesn’t always cooperate, something can still grow. For a long time, I felt like I needed to hide this part of my life. I was afraid that if I talked about my illnesses, they’d become the only thing people saw. But talking about it changed something. The more I opened up, the more people found me. People living with lupus, Sjögren’s, chronic pain, invisible illnesses, and stories that sounded so much like mine. Sharing my experience hasn’t taken the pain away, but it has made me realize I’m not carrying it alone. This painting marks a return to canvas and a new direction for my work. I want to create art that’s honest. Art that tells the truth about living in a body that remembers. @artie_martiee
